Residential Architectural Designer

Your Mission

 

To join our close knit team in our open plan studio and achieve our shared goals and vision for the company; to build on our reputation as the industry leaders in remodeling ugly houses into beautiful family homes, which are good for the soul and the environment.

 

Focused on our Stage 1 Design & Planning service from initial consultation to achieving planning permission and beyond. Working in a Client facing design role creating beautiful transformative design schemes.

 

To learn the “Back to Front way” remodeling houses and become a long-term valued member of the team.

 

This role would ideally suit someone with a few years experience working in a practise and would like to take the next step in their career with a practise who do exciting and transformative one off bespoke residential designs in a buzzing team environment.

 

What must get done?

 

  1. Create highly detailed, attractive and practical remodeling concepts, visuals and planning drawings in the “Back to Front way”, to the satisfaction of the Client and design team, without supervision.
  2. Build and present detailed 3D models and rendered visuals, which are well received by the Client, using advanced skills in ArchiCAD and Photoshop.
  3. Produce designs that comply with current UK building regulations and are technically correct, enabling technical detailing to be undertaken with no revision to the scheme.
  4. Advise, guide and educate Clients in a friendly, clear and firm manner to help them reach suitable design solutions, taking account of their brief and budget but also aesthetic, practical, planning and technical considerations resulting in positive outcomes and maintaining our 100% planning success rate.
  5. Continue to build on positive relationships with Clients and Colleagues, demonstrating behaviors that share Back to Front values resulting in Client referrals, photography and testimonials on every project and a happy studio environment.
  6. Willingly follow Back to Front procedures and administration in an organized and disciplined manner resulting in correct record keeping, teamwork, follow ups, and work free from errors.
  7. Maintain profitability and efficiency on each job without compromising quality or relationships.
  8. Take an engaged, positive and open-minded approach to learning, to build skills and experience.

 

 

What you will need?

 

  1. Strong technical, building regulation and planning knowledge.
  2. Great relationship building and communication skills both in verbal and written forms. 

  3. Comprehensive 3D modeling skills and willing to learn and excel in ArchiCAD 

  4. Confident Photoshop skills

Technical Design Coordinator

Your Mission

Focused on our Stage 2 Technical and Stage 3 Tender service, working in a Client facing role, coordinating and contributing towards all the details required to realise the scheme from planning granted through to tender for construction.

 

To learn the “Back to Front way” remodeling houses and become a long-term valued member of the team.

 

This role would suit someone with high end residential construction/site experience who would like to work in a studio environment and bring a bit of personality to the party.

 

 

What must get done?

 

  1. Liaise with Clients throughout Stage 2 to obtain the information required to create detailed, clear and relevant specifications for tendering Contractors and Construction, in consultation with team members and third parties without supervision by the end of year one.
  2. Advise, guide and educate Clients in a friendly, simple and easy to understand manner to help them understand complex technical considerations relevant to their scheme.
  3. Undertake project administration and coordination to ensuring seamless workflow and communication within the design team and third parties, such as but not limited to: Submit building control applications & handle queries; liaise with Structural Engineers; build relationships with tendering Contractors & handle queries; oversee tendering and provide analysis; produce pre-construction information for CDM; obtain supplier quotations where required.
  4. Work closely with our Architectural Technician to coordinate drawings that are up to date and reflect our Clients needs.
  5. Produce accurate and up to date service plans and window schedules on ArchiCAD.
  6. Be motivated to undertake product and supplier research to keep up to date with new technologies relevant to our schemes.
  7. Continue to build on positive relationships with Clients and Colleagues, demonstrating behaviors that share Back to Front values resulting in Client referrals, photography and testimonials on every project and a happy studio environment.
  8. Willingly follow Back to Front procedures and administration in an organized and disciplined manner resulting in correct record keeping, teamwork, follow ups, and work free from errors.
  9. Maintain profitability and efficiency on each job without compromising quality or relationships.Take an engaged, positive and open-minded approach to learning, to build skills and experience.

 

 

What you will need

 

  1. Strong technical & building regulation knowledge and construction/site experience.
  2. Great relationship building and communication skills both in verbal and written forms.
  3. Experience in handling specifications, tendering, Clients & construction professionals.
  4. Some CAD skills or willing to learn them.
  5. Documentation skills including Microsoft Office
