SURREY HILLS

Enjoying a beautiful village location in the heart of the Surrey Hills, the house sitting in a prominent position was tired and suffered a higgledy piggledy layout with low ceiling heights and disconnected rooms. Initially starting out as an extension and remodelling project, the scheme was pretty much designed as the house stands today but on this occasion, and after some deliberation, it made sense to knock the existing house down and build a new house. This enabled better ceiling heights throughout and a far superior thermal construction.

For this full Design & Planning project, we designed a home that is classical from the outside and works well for family life on the inside. Downstairs, the property features a bright and spacious kitchen/dining/family space that flows onto the garden, supported by a good sized utility/boot room for this active family to stash away their muddy boots and sports trainers! With three young children, it was important for them to have their own space to grow into, so alongside a formal lounge, a playroom was also created. Finally an office space was added to make room for working from home.

Upstairs five good sized bedrooms provide ample living space for all the family and their guests along, with a dressing room and en-suite to complete the master bedroom.

To the exterior, a rendered finish, new timber windows and slate roof, and a fantastic statement front door and porch all work together to create a beautiful family home. A new resin driveway, renovated garage space and expertly chosen soft landscaping finish the whole look superbly.
